Gary joined the Owen Funeral Home staff November 5, 2007. 

Born and raised in Louisville, Gary attended Fern Creek High School and then Jefferson Community College after completing his commitment to the U.S. Army 1970-1972.  He and his wife Debbie have been married over thirty six years. They have three grown children and three grandchildren. Gary & Debbie enjoy their family, church, boating, and fishing. The Thomas’ are active members at Fern Creek Christian Church where Gary is involved with the music and prison ministries.

In 2004 Gary spent two and a half weeks in Afghanistan with a medical mission team serving the Kabul hospital, an orphanage, refugee camp and a church sponsored medical clinic in Istalif, Afghanistan. The team provided medical supplies and services to those communities.
