...Sincere Service is Our Way of Life

Meet
James L. "Jim" Addams

james.addams@owenfuneralhome.com

Jim started with Owen Funeral Home in 1955 immediately after graduating from Portland Christian High School. He graduated from Kentucky School of Embalming in 1956 and remained at Owen Funeral Home until 1964. At that time he felt he needed more time with his young family and left to pursue other interests.

In 1973 while living in Lexington, KY., Jim earned his property and casualty insurance license. He later added a life insurance license and returned to Owen Funeral Home in 1983. Concentrating on pre-need, the life insurance license did not go to waste and Jim became the Pre-Need Director for Owen Funeral Home. In 1995, ForeThought Life Insurance inducted Jim into their Circle of Excellence for $1,000,000 in sales for the preceding year.

Jim and his wife of forty-eight years, have two daughters, Susan and Larissa. Susan is a chaplain in the U. S. Army Reserve and currently holds the rank of Major. Larissa is married and the proud mother of Jim's granddaughter, Alexis Blake. He and Joyce are very active in their church, Southeast Christian Church.
