Sarah grew up around the Lexington/Georgetown, KY area and graduated in 2006 from the U of L earning her B.S. in Justice Administration and concentrated hours in Forensic Anthropology. Following graduation she served an internship in Sydney, Australia working for the National Children’s and Youth Law Center.

In 2008 Sarah joined the Owen Funeral team. After completing her apprenticeship, she attended Mid-America College of Funeral Service graduating with honors. In addition to academic excellence, she was one of the first women chose to receive the Bill Pierce Award. Selected by her classmates for this award as the most representative of funeral service based on:

• Personal neatness
• Dedicated to funeral service
  
• A high degree of student fellowship
  
• Ambition and desire to succeed
  
• Special all-around attitude which would qualify this recipient as an outstanding professional in funeral service
  

In her spare time Sarah enjoys travel, visiting with family and sports (she was a walk-on for the Lady Cardinal Basketball Team).
