October 3, 1962 - January 28, 2022
Angela (Byrd) Parks, 59, of Bardstown KY, was welcomed into the loving arms of her Jesus, Friday January 28th, 2022. Angie was born in Bardstown KY, October 3rd, 1962, to her parents Helen and Jimmy Byrd. After graduating high school, she decided to enlist in the United States Army. After her service, she went on to attend college and became a dental assistant where she spent years working primarily with special needs children. Raised in church, she spent her childhood Sundays worshipping with her family at Dixie Valley Church of God and kept her faith and devotion to Christ throughout life. She knew the love of Jesus and was proud to share it with everyone. Angie enjoyed spending her time crafting, making cards for loved ones, fancy tea parties, and was never found without a glass of sweet tea within reach. Her greatest joy was found in the time she spent with her children and grandchildren, who she tirelessly spoiled with her patience, love, and affection. Angie embodied patience and understanding, she spent most of her time caring for her family. Splitting her time between looking after her father, visiting with her children, and doting on her grandchildren. She brought only good into the world, and did so with nothing but a few dollars, a car with 300 thousand miles on it, and good intentions. She was softspoken but relentless, devout but accepting, she exemplified the true spirit of charity and selflessness. She was an irreplaceable confidant and friend to her children, Ashley and Josh, granddaughter Kaelyn, and lifelong long best friend Diane, always lending a friendly ear without judgement. She was preceded in death by her mother Helen Byrd and brother Steven Byrd. Angie is survived by her loving husband, Wayne Parks Sr; father, Jimmy Byrd; children, Ashley Gates (Austin), Josh Woods, Wayne Parks Jr., and Carrie Henley (Joey); grandchildren, Kaelyn, Jeremiah, Carter, Ridley, Conner, Alayna, Miley, Braxton, Brennan, and Kinleigh; brother, Jeff Byrd; and best friend, Diane Rutland. Visitation will be held Saturday February 12th, 10:00am-1:00pm with services to follow, 1:00pm, at Church of God Dixie Valley, 4703 Quinn Drive, Louisville Ky, 40216.
