Barbara Jo (Cecil) Szofer

June 7, 1946 - November 18, 2021

SZOFER, Barbara Jo (Cecil), 75, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021. Barbara was the daughter of the late Thomas Wesley and Pearl Mae Cecil. She graduated from Butler High School and had worked in real estate for Paul Semonin. She was the selfless matriarch of her family, involved in every aspect of her family’s lives, including cooking meals for them and doting on her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Barbara enjoyed participating alongside her husband, Jim, at events for the Louisville Kosair Shrine. She is survived by her husband, James E. Szofer; children, “Little” Donnie Nichols (Lori), Robynn Rich (Tony), and Missy Skaggs (Mark); 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and sister, Martha Delaney. Visitation will be Monday 1pm-7pm and Tuesday 10am-11pm at Owen Funeral Home – Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Road. Funeral service will be Tuesday 11am at the funeral home, followed by burial at Floydsburg Cemetery.
