Everett “Ed” Gumm Jr.

September 2, 1929 - June 7, 2022

Everett (Ed) Gumm Jr., 92, went to be with his Heavenly Fatherly on Tuesday, June 7, 2022. He was born September 2, 1929 to the late Everett and Elizabeth Gumm. He passed at home surrounded by his children and loving wife. He is preceded in death by his 2 sisters, a brother, and a grandson Jason Mitchell. Everett is survived by the love of his life Phyllis Gumm to whom he was married for 42 years, his son Eddie Gumm (Becky), daughters Debbie Martin, and Laura Geer (David), 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends. He was a retired supervisor at BF Goodrich where he worked for 37 years until his retirement at age 60. He was an Army veteran, a Kentucky Colonel, a member of Cloverleaf Baptist Church, a wonderful dad, best papaw, friend, and husband. After retiring he loved spending time at the lake fishing and most of all being with his family and all the grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had a strong faith in salvation through the Lord Jesus. Funeral service will be held Monday June 13th at 1PM at Owen Funeral Home , 5317 Dixie Highway with burial at Bethany Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday June 12th from noon to 6pm and Monday 10 am to 1pm.
