Gene Carson
December 23, 1931 - February 15, 2022
On Feb 15, 2022, Gene Carson, lifelong resident of Louisville, KY, passed away at the age of 90. He was married to the love of his life, Cherie, for 53 years. They raised two daughters, Brenda and Sandy in a loving home in Shively. Gene had a passion for life, and a contagious sense of humor. He was a “dabbler of things” and loved to experiment with new ideas. He was an avid fisherman and loved being on the water with his boat. He and his wife Cherie shared a love of roller skating, skating competitively throughout the years, and continuing to recreationally skate into his 80’s. He was also an enthusiast of planes: joining the Air Force, obtaining his pilot’s license at a young age and later building and operating radio-controlled planes. He was predeceased by his devoted wife, Cherie Carson, who passed in 2005. He is survived by his two daughters, Brenda Piercefield and Sandy Heckman; three grandchildren, Taylor Piercefield, Jessica Legan and Caitlin Heckman, and five great-grandchildren. His family expresses condolences to those who never knew him. We will cherish the memories of his spontaneous spirit and infectious laughter. His visitation hours will be from 2-4pm on Friday, Feb 18. at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
