Martin Leo Drury

It is with great sadness that the family of Martin Leo Drury announce the passing of our "hero and superman" on Tuesday, August 31, 2021. He was 92 years young. Martin was born on August 18, 1929, in Louisville, KY to Leonard Leo and Mary Mable Drury. He graduated from St. Paul High School in St. Paul, KY. He was a Korean War Veteran and made sergeant in less than two years; retired from Ford Motor Company after 37 years; a Kentucky Colonel; an avid blood donor; a founding member, minister of the Eucharist, and choir member of Incarnation Catholic Church. He was kind and loving, and never met a stranger. Martin was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Mary Louise (Sissy) Pruitt and Dolores (Dumpy) Burkhead; and children Diane Carol and Robert Michael. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Charlotte Ann Drury; 5 children Geri Cundiff (Bill), Sherri Hobbs (Leo), Teri Summitt (Kevin), Michele Ernst (Tim), and Kenny Drury (Julie); 7 grandchildren Dana, Mariah, Whitney, Lauren, Cortney, Jakob, and Jadyn; and 5 great-grandchildren Skylar, Charlotte, Everly, Cooper, and Harper. Visitation Thursday 4 -8p and Friday 9 -11a at Owen Funeral Home; Mass Friday 11:30a at Incarnation Church; burial Friday 1p at Louisville Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to "Mass of the Air" or "American Cancer Society Research".
