Mary Ruth Horlander

January 31, 1928 - September 3, 2021

Mary Ruth Horlander 93, passed away peacefully Friday, September 3rd, 2021. She was a caring and devoted wife and mother whose zest for life was contagious. The simplest pleasures brought her the greatest joys. Her marriage of 67 years to the love of her life, Charlie, was her most treasured gift and it was full of beautiful memories and life moments. She was a graduate of Loretto High School. Mary was born in Louisville, Kentucky on January 31st, 1928. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Charlie; parents Leonard and Willimena Lockard; sister, Dorothy Nau; brothers, Newell and Gerald Lockard; daughter-in-law, Ann Horlander; grandson, Justin Horlander; and great granddaughter, Colby Ruth Roberts. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Dennis Horlander, daughters, Sandra Roberts (Robert), Stephanie Vance; sister Carolyn Short; brother-in-law Jay Nau; grandchildren, Jessica and Jennifer Horlander, Robert Roberts, Jr (Allison), Brett Roberts (Stephanie), Brittany Roberts, Alexys and Amber Vance; and great grandchildren, Caleb, Clayton, Charly, Cory and Cooper; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family has chosen cremation through Owen Funeral Home. A memorial mass to celebrate Mary’s life, and Charlie’s and Mary’s life together, will be held at a later date.
