Mildred Elaine (Cook) Anderson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mildred Elaine (Cook) Anderson, “Nanny” 88, of Louisville, KY, left this world peacefully on March 10, 2021 and went home to be healed and whole with Jesus forever. She was surrounded by family and her loving husband of 65 years, Rex. Elaine was the daughter of the late Ellis Edward Cook & Addie Emma (Bowers) Cook. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Jesse Cook & Charles Cook; sisters, Louvell McKinney & Darlene Arnold. She is survived by her husband, Rex Robert Anderson: a son, Ronnie Anderson and wife Kim; a daughter, Lisa Anderson Keen and husband David. Five grandchildren: Brooke Malko and husband Jon, Lauren Keeling and husband Chad, Stewart Anderson and girlfriend Victoria, Addie Layne Scudder and husband Tyler, Andrew Keen and girlfriend Taylor. Six great grandchildren: Anderson, Camille, Knox & Lyla Elaine Malko, Willet & Winslow Keeling. Her sisters, Mary Schuler and Juanita Coyle and a host of precious nieces and nephews. She was born in Butler Co, KY June 4, 1932. She married Rex on October 1, 1955 and they built a home in Louisville where they raised their family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother (“Nanny”). She loved the Lord above all. She and Rex became members of Ormsby Heights Baptist Church in 1960 where they were faithful servants together for 61 years. She taught Sunday school, training union, VBS, GA’s and Acteen’s and rocked more babies in the nursery than we can count. She loved her family fiercely and joyfully served as a homemaker. She took great pleasure in being in the kitchen cooking and then serving her family. She and Rex loved to raise a garden together. She wanted to feed and wait on anyone who came to her house. She never met a stranger. She had a heart for people who were hurting and alone. She was more precious than rubies. There will not be a day that goes by when we do not miss her. We are grieving but not as ones without hope. Praising the Lord, in grief, for his faithfulness to make all of His promises come true. Services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Ormsby Heights Baptist Church, Louisville, KY. Visitation is Friday, March 19, 20201 at Ormsby Heights Baptist Church, 4:00 pm-8:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am until the time of the funeral.
