Nancy Carolyn Hunt Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Nancy Carolyn Hunt, 88, of Louisville, Ky, passed away on June 21, 2022. Nancy was born December 21, 1933, to William and Martha Price, the youngest of their three children. She married Joseph E. Hunt, Jr in 1958, and because Joseph was a military man stationed in a variety of places, Nancy had the opportunity to travel and experience life in the countries of Turkey and The Philippines. In the US, she lived in several states spanning the country, including Kentucky, Texas, South Carolina, Maine, California and Alaska. This marriage lasted three decades, and even after divorce, Nancy never stopped caring for her husband. Nancy loved animals, enjoyed gardening, working puzzles, and she was a creative seamstress. Her artistic side was revealed in many of her sewing crafts, but those artistic juices really flowed around the Christmas season when she would paint pictures in every window in the house for all to enjoy. Even in her final chapter, while living in a nursing home environment, Nancy entertained herself by coloring pictures. Nancy, rightfully so, took pride in all her creations, but she would tell you her greatest joy and accomplishment was that of her three children and the granddaughter she raised. Nancy was never career driven; but she was driven to be an excellent homemaker. Nancy dearly loved being a mother, and later in life, she dearly loved being a grandmother. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, her brother William Price, her daughter Teresa Hunt, and her son Joseph Hunt, III. She is survived by her brother Charles Price, daughter Marsha Hamburger and her husband Mike, grandchildren Brian Bays, Kevin Bays and Anna Hunt, Joe’s partner Christy Harvey and her children, and many, many beloved friends. A memorial visitation will be held 1:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. Saturday, July 23, 2022 at the Owen Funeral Home 5317 Dixie Hwy.
