Patricia J. Jennings passed away early Sunday, May 1, 2022. She was 91. She was born in Piqua, Ohio, into an America navigating the Great Depression. Her parents, Lillian and Emery Motter, moved the family to Chicago, then to Louisville, Kentucky, and she graduated as a member of Shawnee High School’s Class of 1948. Marriage, motherhood, and moving to the Northeast followed. With her family, grown to include three sons, she lived in New Jersey, and in New York on Long Island and in Manhattan. In 1970, Pat returned to Louisville and raised three boys as a single mother. During that time, she worked for the Logan Company and then Whayne Supply Company, where she was an executive secretary. In her retirement, she traveled nationwide, and on cruises, with friends and family members. She was predeceased by her parents; her brothers Richard Motter and Scott Motter; her sisters Margaret Aldridge and Chris Heck; her son Dana Jennings; and her longtime friend John Norman Whalen. Left to cherish her memory are her brother, John Motter (Mary Jane); sons Marc Emery Jennings and Jason Glenn Jennings (Katherine); grandsons Tristan Jennings, Mick Jennings and Glen Jennings; granddaughter Katherine Comeau; nieces Linda Crist, Rita Liedtke (Greg), Nancy Koller (Thomas), Karren Meiners (Brad) and Lisa Hoskins (Kirk); nephews Steve Motter (Libby), Gregg Motter and Larry Heck (Sandi). There will be a celebration of Patricia Jennings’s life for family and friends at a time and place to be determined.
