Reggie Leon Propes Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Reggie Leon Propes, age 78, of Louisville, passed away on May 24, 2021. He was born in Monroe County, KY on October 1, 1942 to his late parents, Oscar and Alta Propes. Reggie loved to fish and work with his hands. You could often find him working in the garden, or restoring an old tractor or piece of wooden furniture. He was a Kentucky Colonel and member of the Teamsters Local #89. He loved his family and was the best dad in the whole world. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, May Propes; and brothers, Ralph and Rollin Propes. Reggie is survived by his son, Danny Propes; daughter, Sandra Bishop (Garey); brothers, Raven Propes and Winfrey Propes (Wanda); sisters, Reba Shaw, Ruby Faulkner (Paul), Reva Jenkins (Randy), and Ruie Propes; grandchildren, David Thomas (Amy), Quintin Propes (Brooke), and Xander Propes; great grandchildren, Jayden, Blake, Stella, Wyatt, and Sadie; extended step-family, Tina, Jessica, Timmy, Tony, Lindsey, and Katelynn; nieces; nephews; and friends. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy. Louisville, KY 40216 with entombment to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Saturday before the funeral. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Kentucky Humane Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
