Russell ( Russ) Murphy, 83, of Louisville, Kentucky went home to be with his wife Norma, on Sunday January 9th , 2022. Russ and Norma were married on July 28th 1974, spending 44 years loving, nurturing, and caring for each other. Preceding him in death were his parents Henry and Thelma Murphy, 7 brothers ( Dan, Frank, Lewis, Richard, Paul ,Kenneth, and Ralph), and 1 sister Alean Survivors include children Debbie Bridwell and Timothy Durr (Jan), grandchildren Jeremy Teale (Jessica), Lindsey Poe (Joe), Brandon Bridwell (Jamie), Ashley Bridwell (Steven), and Raychel Calhoun, great grandchildren ( Jaycie, Jackson, Lakelyn, Samson, Danny, Kevin, Tristen, and Levi), sisters Wanda Beutel ( Bob) and Patricia Dish ( Mike) Russ was Honorably Discharged after serving 6 years with the Marines. He was a member and sponsor to many for over 40 years with the AA program. He was an avid bike rider, walker, and love spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be12:00 - 8:00 P.M. Wednesday with funeral services held 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the Owen Funeral Home 5317 Dixie Hwy. Entombment in the Evergreen Cemetery.
