Sandra "Sandy" (Logsdon) Murphy Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Sandra “Sandy” (Logsdon) Murphy, 71, of Louisville KY, passed away June 26th, 2022. Sandy was born August 9th, 1950, in Louisville KY, to her parents Audrey and Louis Logsdon. After high school, she went to work for S&T industries for 16 years. She then went to work for CSX-RBT services until she retired. She was a devoted wife and mother; Sandy’s family meant the world to her. She joined St. Peter the Apostle after her home church St. Denis (from which she and her son were brought into the faith) closed. Sandy loved going to bingo, bowling, camping. She especially loved going to The Great Smokey Mountains and playing computer games. She will be remembered for the way she could light up a room with her smile. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents Audrey and Louis Logsdon, and her grand dog Scooter. She is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years Danny Murphy Sr.; her loving son, Danny Murphy Jr.; siblings, Charles Logsdon (Rita), and Claudia French; and many loving family, friends, nieces, nephews, “grandbabies, and great grandbabies.” Donations can be made in her memory to, the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016. A service will be held Friday July 1st, 12:00pm, at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, Louisville KY, 40216. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 30th, 12:00pm – 8:00pm, at the funeral home. A brief visitation will take place from 9:00am until time of service on Friday.
