Thomas (Tom) L. King Jr.

November 12, 1938 - January 22, 2022

Tom King, 83 of Louisville, beloved husband, and father, went to his heavenly home on January 22, 2022. Tom was born in Field, Kentucky on November 12, 1938. He attended Manual High School and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Tom was a retired maintenance mechanic for Dupont, where he worked for 25 years. He was known for his love for the Lord and his passion for evangelism. He served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher for Faith Baptist Temple, Harvest Baptist Church, and most recently, Ormsby Heights Baptist Church. Tom was faithfully married for 62 years to his wife, Betty. Tom and Betty loved to travel together and be involved in events with the leisure club at their church. He spent his free time enjoying fishing, gardening, and working in his garage. Tom is survived by his wife, Betty, daughters Donna King Cornish (Stephen), Paula Page (Darren), son Jeff King (Trina), brother Gene King, and sister Ingrid Bland. He was blessed with 5 grandchildren, Jared Page, Trevor Page, Haley King, Mackenzie Cornish, and Nathan King. Tom was proceeded in death by his parents Thomas L. King Sr. and Rheuamy King, brother Cillis King (Connie), and sister Ina Powell. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 30 at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY 40216. The Funeral Service will be held at the same location at 12:00 p.m. Monday, January 31, 2022. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ormsby Height Baptist Church – Leisure Club.
