Thomas "Tom" Carter McGowan

April 9, 1939 - February 9, 2022

Thomas “Tom” Carter McGowan, 82, of Louisville KY, passed away, February 9th, 2022. He was born in Henry County KY, April 9th, 1939, to his parents Martha and Carroll McGowan. Tom was a devoted Husband and a Great Father who will be dearly missed. He attended Valley High School, went on to work and retire from General Electric Company that he had worked over 30 years for. Tom regularly attended Sunday service with his wife Kay at Greenwood United Baptist Church. His passion was for cars which he and Charles Ray would often enter their cars into local car shows and brought home many trophies. Tom cherished every opportunity he could share with his loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martha, and Carroll McGowan. Tom is survived by his wife of 60 years Kay McGowan; daughter, Terrie Evans, son, John McGowan; grandchildren, Dwayne White, Tyler Holbert, Alana McGowan; sister, Jean Ray, brother in-law, Charles Ray; and many loving friends and family. Visitation will be held, Sunday February 13th, 2:00pm-7:00pm, at Owen Funeral Home – Dixie Highway, 5317 Dixie Highway, Louisville KY, 40216.
