Barry Lee Davis

Barry Lee Davis, 67, passed away unexpectedly on March 19, 2026. He is now resting in peace with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is survived by his loving daughter, Ashley (Brent) Robinson, four grandchildren Erin, Noah, Raegan, and Parker Leigh. Sisters Lynn (John) Nuxol and Gina Lutes. Stepchildren Jenny (Kris) Truman and Brian (Jenny) Shippen, nieces and nephews, godchildren Robbie and Brandon Hancock, as well as cherished friends and extended family. Barry was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Davis and mother, Mary Davis, whom he loved and missed dearly. We find comfort in knowing he is reunited with his parents. He was born June 10, 1958 in Arlington, Virginia. As an infant, he and his mother and father returned to Kentucky, residing in Jeffersontown. Barry graduated from Jeffersontown High School in 1977. After graduation he pursued his dream of becoming a journeyman tool and die maker. He was a dedicated worker and took great pride in his craft, retiring from Martinrea Heavy Stamping after many years in his trade. As a young man, he loved visiting his grandparents' homes. He especially enjoyed helping bail hay and cut tobacco on the farm. There, he developed a love for hunting and outdoorsmanship. Barry lived life large and loud! You never saw him without a smile on his face. He was a very friendly, humble and kind person and never met a stranger. He was a true friend to many, often going above and beyond. Barry was a proud Kentuckian through and through. He loved his Kentucky Wildcats. Always shouting “KEEP BELIEVIN’ IN BLUE!”. He always enjoyed social events. You could always find him at church picnics, concerts, car shows or any event that friends and family would be attending. The Derby season was a particularly special time of year for him. His greatest joy was his granddaughter, Parker Leigh, who fondly referred to him as Papa Bear. Barry was an incredible son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed. Visitation from 3:00-8:00 pm on Friday, March 27, 2026, Owen Funeral Home - Jeffersontown 9318 Taylorsville Road. Funeral service at 12:00 pm on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Owen Funeral Home. A private family burial will be held at a later date. We encourage everyone to follow in Barry's footsteps and register to be an organ donor with Network for Hope. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the ALS Association or the Wounded Warrior Project.
