Cooper Jordan Stewart

Cooper Jordan Stewart (known as Coop, to many), 22, of Louisville, KY, returned to his heavenly father on April 7, 2023, after succumbing to injuries he sustained in a car accident in the early morning of April 6th. Cooper leaves behind his twin brother, Cameron. From day one, until high school, they were rarely apart. They were usually known as, “the boys” or “the Stewart twins” by everyone. They played on the same teams, whether it was baseball, basketball, tennis or golf. They always had a nurse, or nurses with them growing up and when they did not need them anymore, man you could not hold them back. Cooper was born on June 1, 2000, to Mike Stewart and Tara Logsdon at Suburban Hospital, in Louisville. Shortly after birth Cooper and Cameron were diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called Camptomelic Dysplasia and would spend the first four years of their lives on a ventilator. Cooper attended Schaffner Traditional Elementary School and Johnson Traditional Middle School. He also attended Butler Traditional High School, where he graduated in 2019. While at Butler, Cooper played on the boys varsity tennis team, where he and his brother were the number one doubles team all four years. Cooper also played on the varsity golf team all four years and managed the girls volleyball team for one year. One of his most favorite things in high school was writing for the Butler paper, Inkspot, where he covered stories about sports. Cooper, along with Cameron, were also named to the 2019 KY All-Resilient Team – which celebrates high school athletes that succeeded after overcoming adversity. After overcoming many obstacles and having many surgeries, Cooper enjoyed an active life playing baseball, tennis, and golf. He was a UK fan, an all-around avid sports fan and enjoyed spending time with friends watching NFL games on Sundays. For the past three years he has enjoyed umpiring Little League Baseball games and tournaments, along with bowling in various leagues. Cooper was preceded in death by his cousins, Summer Williams and Darrin Thiele, and his aunts, Leslie Murphy and Bonnie Hatfield. Along with his brother, Cooper leaves to cherish in his memory his dad and stepmom, Mike and Tifany Stewart; his birth mother, Tara Logsdon; his soon-to-be-born brother, Raylan Stewart; his sisters, Katey Duggan, Bailey Duggan and Emma Logsdon; His grandparents, Jim and Betty Stewart, Bob and Kathy Prechtel, and Matt and MaryAnn Ramser; his aunts, Debbie Hampton, Jennifer Williams, and Kim Mares (Dylan); his uncles Doug Hatfield and Jimmy Hatfield; his cousins, Aimee Pence (David), Larry Hampton (Katelyn), Brandy Hatfield, Jamie Hatfield, Lace Hatfield, Lilly Williams, Chris Murphy (Sarah), Angela Murphy, Crystal Proctor (Bradley), Daxton Mares and Enzly Mares; along with a long list of family, friends and loved ones. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 12th and Thursday, April 13th from 12:00pm – 8:00pm at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY 40216. Funeral Services will be Friday, April 14th at 10:00am at Cornerstone Community Church, 10600 Lower River Road, Louisville, KY 40272. Burial at Evergreen Cemetery, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, KY 40213, immediately following the funeral service.
