Gary Gipson

Gary Gipson of South Louisville, passed away on July 30th, 2022, at age 66 Gary was born on May 3rd, 1956, to his parents John R Gipson Sr. and Ozell Gipson. Gary was one of six children. He attended Iroquois High school then Joined the USAF. He spent a long period of time working with thoroughbred horses which he absolutely loved and felt spiritually connected, working and living at round House Farm in Oldham County. Later Gary was hired by Bran Clore for the construction of bridges. Mr. Clore went on to create Rock and Water Creations Inc. and took his best man with him. Gary was proud to have worked on Papa John's home creating beautiful creeks, waterfalls and custom swimming pools. Although Gary didn't have the degree of a Architect or engineer he often was a problem solver with a commonsense approach of figuring things out. Bran considered Gary as one of his top leaders and workers for his company, But Bran found that friendship and loyalty was far more beneficial than the employee/employer aspect of their relationship. Gary was much respected in all of his work. In addition to his work ethic and passion for animals of all kinds Gary leaned on the Bible and read it often. Gary had an unwavering faith in God and his word. Gary loved everything fast, cars and motorcycles! He loved the UofL cardinals and watched them on TV every chance he got (GO CARDS). He liked gardening and could grow some really nice plants. He really Cherished time with family as we all should. Gary often said "I may not have two nickels, but I'm the richest person I know. Gary was always looking out for his neighbors of all races with rides to the store, a car project or working on their lawn mowers and a few chores. Gary was proud of his surgeon (Dr. Wayne) and the fact that his case may be in the American Medical Journal as pioneers with this procedure as it had not been done before. Gary was also happy to have a new relationship with Raven Carpenter and her family Gary was proceeded in death by his parents John R. And Ozell Gipson, His older brother John R Gipson Jr. (Jay). and his beloved partner of 30+ years Barbara James Gary is survived by his siblings Patty Moran (William), Joe Gipson (Missy "2") , Mike Gipson (Juanita), and PC Gipson (Missy "1") and beloved stepmother Margaret Gipson and sister-in-law Collie (Jay's wife) and a host of nephews and nieces and many friends and a multitude of cousins who he loved. His "mans best friend" Tip Toe and his Cat Merlin. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made toward the funeral expenses as he had no insurance. Envelopes will be at the funeral home or feel free to contact anyone in the family. Visitation at Owen's Funeral Home Dixie Hwy, Wednesday August 10th from 10am till 8pm Service Thursday August 11th at 11am with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
