Lisa Crain

Lisa Crain, 54, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on July 25, 2019 from complications related to lung cancer. The funeral services will be held Monday, July 29, 2019 at 1:00 at Owen Funeral Home at 5317 Dixie Highway. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 28, from 2pm to 8pm. Burial will follow the funeral at Bethany Memorial Cemetery. Lisa was born in Louisville, Kentucky on April 25, 1965 to Garnett and Shirley Morris. She graduated from Pleasure Ridge Park High School in 1983 and later obtained a business administration degree for the University of Louisville. Lisa was married to Wallace Crain for 33 years. Lisa worked as a Human Resource Director at Cook Compression for approximately 30 years. She loved being involved in her church working in the women’s and youth ministries. Lisa accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at an early age and was baptized at Ormsby Heights Baptist Church. Throughout her battle with cancer, Lisa always had a positive attitude which pointed people toward Christ. Lisa is survived by her husband, Wallace Crain, her son, Jonathan (Krissi), grandson, Jackson, and her daughter Rachel. Lisa is also survived by her sister Jennifer Matherly (Larry), brother Tim (Dione), brother-in-law Michael Crain (Melissa), sisters- in-law Theresa Edwards (Darryl), Stacey Merideth, step- mother June Morris, father-in law Wallace Crain (Norma) and mother in law Diane O’Heher. Lisa’s extended family included many nieces and nephews: Bart Matherly (Angela), Kristi Ragsdale (Jason), Tyler Morris (Samantha), Jacob Morris (Sydney), Sara Colyer (Avery), Matthew Fields, Lily Crain, Maggie Crain and Justin Meredith and a host of other relatives and cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Garnett and Shirley Morris; and brother-in-law, Alan Crain. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Youth Ministry International, 1300 Envoy Circle, Suite 1306, Louisville KY 40299 in support of Phil and Scottie Rice who are currently serving as missionaries in Romania. The family wishes to thank her many friends that have provided support during her long illness. They would also like to thank the CBC Group, and the nurses/caregivers at Baptist Hospital East who provided excellent care for Lisa during her illness.
