Louis "Lou" Edward Flamm

Louis (Lou) Edward Flamm, was born in Louisville, Kentucky on May 29, 1948. He was married to Margaret Katherine (Kathy) Flamm for 47 years and they had three children, Christopher (Jackie) Flamm, Tara (Chris) Barbre, and Stacey Zocklein; nine grandchildren, Christopher (Carley) Barbre, Amy Barbre, Haley (Michael) Whitaker, Dylan Schmidt, Nathaniel (Kennedy) Barbre, Micah (Aaron) Stevens, Kaitlyn Zocklein, Whitney Zocklein and Mason Flamm; five great-grandchildren; and brothers, Tom Flamm (Christy) and Bill Flamm (Cheryl). He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Doris Flamm; and sister, Carol Baker. Lou managed the Baptist Bowling Associations bowling center, Fellowship Bowling Lanes for 8 years during the 80’s. He enjoyed bowling and bowled for 50+ years. Lou managed Closet Concepts here in Louisville for 2 years; 1988 & 1989. In 1990 he started his own business, River City Sports Center, Inc. dba River City Indoor Soccer Club. Lou owned and operated the business from its inception until he sold the business in April of 2008. His wife Kathy went to work with him at the business in 1993 and she continued to work until the day the business was sold, and they retired. Lou was initiated as an Entered Apprentice Aug. 4, 1969, passed to the degree of a fellowcraft Oct. 6, and 1969 Raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason Nov. 17, 1969. He belonged to the Highland Park Lodge #865 where he received his 3 degrees in Masonry. He transferred to Sunset Lodge in 2004. Lou joined the Kosair Shriners in 2003 and was active in the Greeters Unit and the Oriental Band. He worked for the Kosair Shrine Circus for several years. He is the past President of the Kosair Oriental Band, past President of the Jefferson County Masonic Officers Association and Past-President of the Kosair Greeters Unit. He is a past Master of Sunset Lodge #915 serving as its Master in the years 2008 & 2012. At his passing, he was serving as Secretary of Sunset Lodge #915 and has served as such since 2016. His funeral service will be at Noon Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Owen Funeral Home-Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Rd. with burial to follow in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 6, 2026 from 2-8 p.m. with a Masonic service at 6:30 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home-Jeffersontown. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sunset Lodge #915.
