Nadine (Breeden) Huber

Nadine (Breeden) Huber, 92, passed away February 7, 2023. Nadine was born on January 2, 1931, to her parents Ruel Floyd and Mary (Cole) Breeden of Louisville. She was the well-loved baby of the family, nicknamed Little Dee, and was extremely close to her brother, Randall, and sister, Doris. She was a smart introverted reader from an early age with a bit of a feisty/mischievous side and loved her family above all else. Nadine graduated from Shawnee High School and married Joseph Lee Huber. They had three children, Richard, Laura and Nancy. She was a devoted mother who also volunteered as Sunday School Teacher, PTA President, Cub Scout Leader and Girl Scout Leader. An amazing seamstress, she made beautiful clothes (including dance costumes) for her family and was a fabulous cook as well. She, along with her husband Joe, taught her kids to love nature and camping became a big part of their life. As her children got older, she became a valuable addition to the accounting department of Porter Paint and worked there until she retired. Throughout her life the thread of love and family was prominent. Her children married and had children of their own and she became their beloved “Ginny” (Gina, first grandchild could not say Grammy). She spread her “Ginny-love” to all who touched her family. She was the best cheerleader on the sideline at all the sporting events and the babysitter they all wanted. As the grandchildren had children of their own, she became “Great Ginny”. Always a Kentucky girl, she moved to Atlanta to be with her children in 2017 but would tell anyone who would listen that she was from Kentucky and did not like Georgia (or her daughter’s cat Sammie!). She loved to play cards, read books and work puzzles and have everyone over for meals (her favorite). She was a beautiful person, both inside and out, who was loyal, honest and empathetic. If you were lucky enough to be loved by her, your life would be changed forever. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lee Huber, brother Randall Breeden and sister Doris Neal and her husband Bill and her brother in law Ralph Huber and his wife Betty. Left to cherish her memories, her children Laura Dodd (Mel), Richard Huber, Nancy Perronie Jones (David); grandchildren Kelly Dodd, Patrick Dodd, Dominic Perronie, Gina Perronie, Alaina Barkley (Scott); great grandchildren Ella, Ben, Grayson; sister-in-law Laverne Breeden and a host of family and friends that loved her. Funeral services will be Saturday February 18, 2023, at 12:30 pm at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. The visitation will be Saturday from 11:00-12:30 pm at the funeral home.
