Naomi Lacosta Coleman

Naomi Lacosta Coleman, also known as "Lady," accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was born on July 5, 1977, in Louisville, Kentucky, and was 46 years old at the time of her passing. Naomi's parents are Judy Pearl Turner and James Alvin Coleman(1933-1991). She fought valiantly against cancer and went to be with the Lord on January 22, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Naomi is a positive influence in many people's lives. Naomi came from a large family with three siblings: Alvin R. Coleman, Sheena D. Coleman, and Timothy W. Coleman. In addition to her siblings, she had several half-siblings who were born from her parents' other relationships. These half-siblings included Joseph Turner and Whitney Marcus (whom Naomi raised as her own) from her mother Judy's previous relationships, and Lannie Coleman, Tammy Coleman, Carnston Coleman, and Gary Coleman from her father James's previous relationships. Naomi was preceded by four siblings: Benard D. Turner, James Coleman Jr, Robert Coleman, and Sherry Coleman. Naomi's unwavering support and compassion towards her large family make her an integral and honorable member. Her siblings look up to her as a trusted ally and confidant. Naomi was married twice, first to Sterling Griffith and then to Dion Pough. With Sterling, she has three children: Joshua Aaron Griffith (Lashonta), Kaleb Guy Griffith, and Imoan Eustacia Griffith. Naomi also has one grandchild, Kihmari Griffith. Naomi completed her high school education from Sparkman High School and then joined the US Air Force. Later, she pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2004. Naomi worked in various nursing units but felt the most passionate about the ICU. She displayed compassion and dedication while serving as a nurse. Naomi was a kind-hearted person who loved to share her knowledge with others. In her free time, she enjoyed watching movies, thrifting, spending time with her children, and serving the Lord. Naomi's Celebration of Life will be held on February 10, 2024, at 3 pm in Southeast Atlanta Seventh-day Baptist Church. The event will be live-streamed on the church's website and Facebook page. Please donate to The City of Hope Cancer Center Atlanta and Gilda's Club Kentuckiana if you wish to contribute. These organizations were beneficial to Naomi during her fight against cancer. Flowers are also welcome.
