Robert Wade Anderson Jr., 67, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on October 23, 1957, in Louisville, Robert was the beloved son of the late Robert Sr. and Frances (O’Neal) Anderson. A proud graduate of Western High School’s Class of 1975, Robert remained deeply connected to his alma mater throughout his life. As a student, he was an accomplished wrestler, earning recognition for his skill and dedication on the mat. In his later years, he joined the Western High School Alumni Association, where he volunteered his time and talents to support the school and its students. Robert was a dedicated and hardworking man who rarely took a day off from his role as warehouse manager at G.E. Richards Printing Supply Company. He was also a talented handyman who could fix just about anything you put in front of him. From building furniture to crafting custom cornhole boards, Robert used his skills generously—often donating time and materials to build items he would sell to raise money for Western High School. Outside of work and volunteering, Robert enjoyed a full and active life filled with friendships, hobbies, and family traditions. He loved bowling, golfing, working on cars, and catching up over morning coffee and breakfast with friends. A lifelong sports fan and loyal supporter of University of Louisville athletics, Robert followed both college and professional basketball and football with passion and pride. He also had a deep love for his beloved dog, Payton, who passed away several years ago and continued to hold a special place in his heart. One of Robert’s greatest joys was being a father. His son, Tyler, was the light of his life, and he was immensely proud of the man Tyler has become. Robert's love for his son was steady and unconditional—he celebrated Tyler’s accomplishments, supported him through challenges, and cherished the bond they shared. He also loved bringing family and friends together during the holidays, often taking the lead in cooking meals for everyone to enjoy. He delighted in trying new recipes and cooking techniques, always hoping to create something memorable for those he loved. Robert will be remembered as a loving father, brother, and uncle—defined by his kindness, dependability, and unwavering support for those around him. Whether you needed help moving, a car repair, or just a laugh, Robert was the person you could always count on. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved dog, Payton. He is survived by his son, Tyler Anderson; sisters Judy McGrath (John) and Charlene Anderson; nine nieces and nephews; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, and friends. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home (5317 Dixie Highway). Visitation will take place the same day from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice
