Robert Benjamin Luckett

ROBERT BENJAMIN LUCKETT (“Bob”) Robert, age 93, passed away Monday, July 20, 2026, in Celebration, Florida. Mr. Luckett was born September 18, 1932, to the late Mary Marie (Hamilton) and Benjamin Thomas Luckett in Lebanon, Kentucky. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired as a real estate broker from his family business “Bob Luckett Realtors.” He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, American Legion Dixie 220 Post and River Cities Corvette Club. Mr. Luckett was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Jane (Cambron) Luckett; and his second wife, Elizabeth “Betty” (Siebeneck) Luckett. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Mark W. Luckett and Preston Luckett, and his sisters, Chester Mae Roberts, Catherine Blair, and Cecilia Luckett. He is survived by his children Cynthia “Cindy” Jane Shelton (Christopher), Mary “Lisa” Cooper, and Robert “Tim” Luckett (Kathy); Grandchildren, Amanda “Mandy” Marie Luckett, Robert “Anthony” Luckett (Emily), Mary Callisa “Callie” Shelton and Lindsey Michelle Ibarra (Elias); and great-grandchildren, Atom “Atlas” Bastien and Raylen Harper Luckett. Bob was a man who never sat still. An entrepreneur at heart, he got his start running a barber shop before setting his sights on real estate, launching “Bob Luckett Realtors” around 1975 alongside his wife Mary Jane. When the time came to retire, the two of them did it in style, trading Kentucky winters for life as Florida snowbirds. Bob had a taste for the good life — an ocean cruise, a good meal, fast cars, and a glass of Maker’s Mark were always welcome. But it was the open road that really called to him. After Mary Jane’s passing, he found a kindred spirit in his second wife, Betty, and the two of them spent years exploring the country together by motorcycle and RV, chasing highways and horizons for the sheer joy of the ride. Bob was a devoted member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church for 51 years and the American Legion for 58 years — commitments that spanned nearly his entire adult life. And when he wasn’t on the road or wheeling and dealing in real estate you’d find him with a line in the water, fishing, or a hand of cards, always ready for a little friendly competition. Visitation will be Sunday, August 2nd from 2-8PM. and Monday, August 3rd at 11AM followed by the funeral service starting at 12PM at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway in Shively. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, 1600 Newburg Rd in the Highlands. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Lawrence Catholic Church, American Legion or Knights of Columbus in honor of Bob.
