Ronald Embry Lasley

Ronald Embry Lasley, 80, went to be with the lord on May 2, 2026. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on April 16, 1946, to his late parents, Mildred Daugherty and Kenneth Lasley. Ron was a devoted pastor who faithfully served for 52 years, ministering to congregations at 12 different churches. He was deeply proud of his faith in Jesus Christ and carried that faith into every aspect of his life. Outside of the pulpit, Ron was an avid softball player, golfer, and racecar driver. He also served as a chaplain at Salem Speedway, the former Kentucky Speedway, and the former Louisville Motor Speedway, where he achieved a proud milestone by winning a championship in 2000. Ron had a passion for restoring and building classic cars and was a dedicated member of the Faith Riders Motorcycle Club. He truly loved people and firmly believed in the power of second chances. Above all, Ron was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and he took immense pride in his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Isabella Grace; and grandmother, Margaret Waters. Ron will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Barbara Lasley; sons, Kenneth Lasley (Kim), Ron Lasley (Michelle), and Chris Lasley (Gladys); grandchildren, Brennan Lasley (Ashley), Lexi Lasley Carter (Tyler), Erin Lasley (Cam Bohannon), Nate Lasley, Sam Lasley, Joe Lasley, Isaac Lasley, and Elijah Lasley; great grandchildren, Briggs and Bryson Carter; and sister, Keela Hatter. “For every early morning, every late night, and every sacrifice no one else saw, thank you. For leading with faith when it wasn’t easy, for standing firm in your beliefs, and for showing us what it means to truly serve God, thank you. You didn’t just provide for our family, you built it- on love, discipline, and unwavering commitment. Your life has been our example, your strength has been our foundation, and your faith has been our guide. Because of you, we understand what it means to be men of God. We are proud to be your sons. And we are forever grateful. We love you dad.” His funeral services will be provided by Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 1:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will start at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 8, 2026, at Little Flock Baptist Church, 5510 N Preston Hwy, Shepherdsville, KY 40165. Burial will take place at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery on Monday, May 11, 2026, at 1:30 PM.
