Ronnie Charles Rodgers “RC”, 70 years old, passed away on May 4, 2026. RC was born on November 10, 1955, “the year McDonald’s franchise fried it’s first hamburger, Chevrolet built it’s best truck, and Reba McEntire was born.” RC was born in Columbia, KY, the son of Charles Landon Rodgers and Joyce Dean Rodgers Lee. RC was truly a larger-than-life presence, filling any room he entered with his commanding 6ft 2 stature and a heart to match. A man of deep conviction, he lived life according to his own rules, anchored by a strong belief God, family, and country. This devotion was evident in his daily routine – he NEVER missed an update on FOX News, staying informed and passionate about the nation he loved. Those who knew him well often experienced the mischievous sense of humor and his simple, quirky joys likes his legendry love for popsicles, ice cream and lime pickles. Ronnie, may you enjoy all the popsicles, ice cream and lime pickles in Heaven. More was always better. His greatest pleasure was giving to others, with immense generosity. While he fought a long courageous battle with chronic illness, he faced it with bravery, living on his own terms until the end. Knowing his spirit, one can be sure he and the Lord are currently engaged in many spirited discussions. RC was preceded in death by father, mother, and youngest brother Rodney Rodgers. RC is survived by his 5ft 1.5 inch wife, Mel; his children, Miranda Rodgers Gray (Cain Gray), Melissa Rodgers, Chuck Rodgers (McKenzie Terry), Sarah Burda, Justice Burda, Casey Burda (Alexis Puckett), and Abbey Rodgers; his grandkids, Briceson Rodgers (Anastasia Durham), and Zoe Gray; his brothers, Rickey Rodgers; sister, Rhonica Patterson (Larry); nephew, Landon Herren (Morgan), and niece, Laura Beddow (Tyler). Visitation will be Friday, May 8, 2026, 2pm-8pm at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway and Saturday, May 9,2026, 10am-12pm at Shively Christian Church, 1822 Kendall Lane, with the service to follow at 12pm.
