Sandra Lucille (Burkhead) Dennison, 72, born in Pontiac, MI, resident of Louisville, KY, passed away on Wednesday October 21, 2020 at 11:19pm (EST). Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her life at Owen Funeral Home at 5317 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY 40216 on Tuesday October 27, 2020 from 12-4pm (EST), 3-4pm will be a dedication, starting with her children then open to anyone who wants to share how Sandee touched their life. According to her wishes, she will be cremated and given to her children. Sandee is survived by: four children: Roy Lee Burkhead Jr. II (Leslie), Tina Ann Cline (Michael), Nicholas Dewey Burkhead (Nina), Ginette Carella Lindsey (Jesse); eight grandchildren: Seth and Eyrn (Roy), Charles and wife Elena, Jacob and wife Hannah, and Cullen (Tina), Zazzirah, Jasmine, and Kierra (Nicholas); three great grandchildren: William and Harley (Charles), Kaydence Lucille Nicole (Kierra); four siblings: Lavonn Dennison-Bules (Chuck), Nelson Sanders (Linda), Sheila Holland (Tim), Stephen Sanders; and partner, Paul Sanders Sr. Sandee is preceded in death by: parents: Geneva Lavada Bennett and Jowell Thurman Dennison; three siblings: Caroline, Cornell, Donald; and ex-husband Roy Lee Burkhead Sr. Sandee earned her GED in 1985 and always wanted to be a nurse, however being a mother was her career and she loved her job. She briefly worked at her brother’s business, Cornell’s Decors as a supervisor for four years before retiring in 1991. Her religion was Seventh Day Adventist and Baptist. She was a past president of Demolay Mothers’ Club as well as a member of the American Quilters Club. Her hobbies included: cooking, quilting, reading, refunding (clipping coupons and saving money), watching educational television shows, learning new things on her computer, and connecting with family and friends via social media. Sandee was the most caring, generous, thoughtful, intelligent, witty, and beautiful (inside and out) woman who loved and was loved by everyone who met her unconditionally. She was extremely happy to have been able to live independently enjoying her freedom in her own apartment up until her death and will be deeply missed by family, friends and all that knew her. The Lord took her through the pearly gates where she was reunited with her lost loved ones and she will be forever deeply missed. May she REST IN PEACE!
