Sandra Lee (Hartz) Pierce

Sandra Lee Pierce passed away on August 11, 2024 at 1:50pm. We have all been loved deeply by God through her. Sandra (Sandy/San/Mom/Grandma) was a lover of people. She was kind, respectful, responsible, happy, compassionate, hospitable, gentle, giving, sweet, merciful, instructive, fun, patient, a lover of children, and had many other wonderful attributes. She helped raise and care for all of our family in many ways. We have all been a recipient of her charity, as countless others have been, our entire lives. She made peace and facilitated good relationships and spaces to enjoy them. She loved traditions and holidays. She had a good, long, full, and at times, difficult life. She was a mother of mothers. Because of her example, all of her children have raised another extraordinary generation. She was an avid Catholic who strived each day to act as she thought God would want her to act. She was an active volunteer at her church, assisting with Angel tree projects and many visits for St. Vincent DePaul. Mary, the Blessed Virgin, was her role model as she said her rosary every night before she fell asleep. We have all been given a good example of what many practical acts of Godliness look like because of her. We all want to love and care for others the ways she did. She is missed, but her legacy lives on through her traditions, children, grand-children, great-grandchildren, and her favorite memories (like the lake). She is deeply loved and appreciated more than she will ever know. Those left behind will always strive to duplicate her best traits and continue her legacy. 1You who dwell in the shelter of the Most High, who abide in the shade of the Almighty, 2 Say to the LORD, “My refuge and fortress, my God in whom I trust.” Psalm 91 Sandra is survived by her husband of 47 years, William Franklin Pierce; six children, Sharon Denise Jerome (Robbie), Brian Louis Cook (Victoria), Deborah Lynn Maynard; Cindy Elizabeth Cook, Pamela Jones (Rick) and Robert F. Pierce; a sister, Sharon Ann Hollinden (Jim); 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Visitation will be 2:00 - 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Owen Funeral Home 5317 Dixie Hwy and a funeral mass will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at St Peter The Apostle Catholic Church 5431 Johnsontown Road. Burial will be in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY. Memorial gifts may be given to St. Vincent DePaul in lieu of flowers
