Thomas Ingram Fryer

Thomas Ingram Fryer, 77, passed away on July 24, 2025, after a 10 year battle with Parkinson’s disease. Born Feb 14,1948, in West Chester, PA, he was the son of the late Charles Evans Fryer and Doris Thomson Fryer. Tom was employed by the US Postal Service in Exton, PA for nearly 30 years. His friendly personality made him a favorite with his customers and he met his wife Kelly while working there. He grew up playing baseball in his father’s little league and was a lifelong Phillies fan. He loved all sports and knew more sports trivia than most people. Tom’s favorite hobby was playing pool, and he became a nationally ranked player. He was so proficient that he ran 188 balls which proudly displayed as his license plate. He briefly owned the old Chalk N Cue in West Chester with a friend. Kelly and Tom married when he was 45 and she was 25. They were delighted to welcome their daughter Darcy into the world several years later. When illness struck, Tom cared faithfully and attended to Kelly with loving devotion for years while she was on kidney dialysis. After she passed away, he poured himself into their daughter Darcy’s life and particularly enjoyed attending her volleyball games. Tom had a wonderful sense of humor, sweet disposition, and was willing to help when needed. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Doris and Charlie Fryer; his older brother, Teddy Barili, his beloved wife, Kelly Fryer, and his father-in-law, David Blair. Tom is survived by his mother-in-law, Joyce Blair; sister and brother-in-law, Terri (Fryer) Newlin and Gary Newlin; his sister-in-law, Roberta Barili, his two daughters, Darcy Fryer and Julie (Fryer) Bailey; his son-in-law Brian; his three grandchildren, Cameron, Libby, and Reese; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law David and Rebecca Blair and their children Davey and Sophie; his nieces, Tracey Fazzini and Kimberly Lawson; and his nephew, Christopher Barili. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Bedford Springs Healthcare & Rehabilitation and Hosparus for the compassionate and devoted care they showed Tom during his final weeks.
