Cody Anthony Durbin

October 22, 1988 - February 7, 2022

Cody Anthony Durbin was born on October 22, 1988 and returned to his Makers arms on February 7, 2022. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmer and Agnes Dobes, Barbara J. Stivers, and his aunt, Tammy Arnold. He is survived by his parents Paul A. “Tony” and Rita Durbin, a brother Kyle Durbin, aunt Debbie (Lennie) Vice, uncles Michael (Merlise) Dobes and Gary Arnold; Cousins Chris Jackson “Gee”, Shelley Jackson Spragens, Brian Arnold, Gesina Dadisman and Dustin Arnold along with many other cousins, friends and acquaintances and his “special dog brother” Boomer. Cody lit up a room when he entered with his smile and a distinctive laugh. In life he made everyone feel welcomed and was a fiercely loyal friend. He loved being surrounded by people and he never met a stranger. He was always there if you needed him. One of his favorite things to do was spend time with his family. He loved sitting outside around a fire and watching scary movies and making smores. Cody was one of a kind, always giving of himself. He chose to be an organ donor. Cody will live on in others and what a wondrous, beautiful gesture. He has saved or prolonged the lives of several people due to his gift. Like dropping a pebble in water, the gift of an organ, who knows where those ripples will end. Cody overcame many difficulties in his brief time and was a hero to his friends and family. He will be missed unequivocally. A memorial service will be held 7:00 P.M. Friday at the Owen Funeral Home 5317 Dixie Hwy. with visitation 3:00 – 7:00 P.M.
