Joseph Vernon Hardin Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Joseph Vernon Hardin, 86, went to his heavenly home on Tuesday July 12,2022. Vernon was born on May 29, 1936, to his parents Joseph H. and Louvina (Grigsby) Hardin. He was a Veteran. He retired from General Electric after 40 years as a Computer Operator. He was a faithful member and deacon of Cloverleaf Baptist Church. He was awarded Deacon Emeritus in 2019. His passion was visiting shut-ins and people in the hospital, often bringing them homemade baked goods. Preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Phyllis (Johnson) Hardin with whom he was married for 50 years, two sisters Nancy Maynard, Ruth Duncan and a great grandson Jonathen Sexton. Survived by his children Gwen Rhoads (Kenny), Lisa Risinger, Beth Parli (Matt) and Paul Hardin (Samantha); ten grandchildren fourteen great grandchildren. A special acknowledgement to Vernon's wonderful caregivers, who treated him with dignity and respect during the hardest of days: Pat Tanyhill and Pam Walls. Funeral services will be Saturday July 16, 2022, at 11:00am, Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial to follow Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be Friday, July 15, 2020, 3:00-8:00pm at the funeral home.
