Luther G. “LG” LaFever, 78, of Louisville KY, went home to be with the Lord, December 16th, 2021. He was born, June 17th, 1943, in Silver Point Tennessee, to his parents Hattie and Luther LaFever. After graduating high school, LG went on to join and proudly serve the United States Army during the Vietnam war. After his service he became an apprentice at Fawcett-Dearing Printing Company and worked there for several years. LG eventually became a school bus driver, trainer, and a Compound Attendant at Jefferson County Public Schools. He retired from JCPS in May 2013. He was a devout Christian and attended Beth Haven Baptist Church for over 30 years. Early on, he served in the Church as a bus driver for the bus ministry and eventually became the sound technician. Later, he became a member of Landmark Baptist Church where he loved to regularly attend services and developed a special connection with his church family. LG loved spending time with his family, taking long Sunday drives, going bowling, and attending Sunday services. He was a loving husband, supportive father, proud and caring grandfather, and a loyal friend. His memory will be cherished. Preceded in death by his parents and sister Barbara LaFever. Left to cherish his memory his wife of many years, JoAnn LaFever; children, Kevin LaFever, Eric LaFever (Atasha), George A. Tarter, Robert D. Tarter, Rebecca Jo Fellows (John), Alesia Coffey (Alvin); 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren. Services will be held Tuesday December 21st, 1:00pm, at Owen Funeral Home – Dixie Highway, 5317 Dixie Highway, Louisville KY, 40216, burial to follow at Highland Memory Garden, Mount Washington. Visitation will be held Monday December 20th, 12:00pm-8:00pm, at the funeral home.
