Margaret LaVerne Harder

January 8, 1934 - May 9, 2022

Margaret LaVerne Harder died on May 9, 2022 at her home in Louisville KY. She was 88 years old and died peacefully in her sleep with family present. Born in Gainesville, Georgia on January 8th, 1934, LaVerne was one of 13 children born to Mary and Homer Rouse. After high school she married John Foster Harder, Sr., with whom she had five sons and daughters. LaVerne was devoted to her family and friends and spent her time doing everything in her power to ensure that her children were loved and cared for. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Foster Harder, Sr., her parents, Mary Louise and Homer Rouse, and her oldest daughter, Robin Allen. LaVerne is survived by four (4) children (Stephen Harder, LeeAnn Westfall [Donny], Rebecca Harder, and John Harder [Melinda]), 16 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, a niece (Dorrie Blevins) and a nephew (Joe Ford). LaVerne, and her children, were assisted in her final journey by the staff of Hosparus Health. We are so appreciative of the support and care provided by the staff of Hosparus Health to our mother, and to us, during her final weeks of life. A private service will be held to honor LaVerne’s journey through this world.
