Clifford Lee "Kip" Raggard

Clifford L. Raggard, 92, went into God’s loving arms June 14, 2023 at home with his beloved wife Anna. Kip (Cip) was born in October 1930, to John Henry and Dora Mae Raggard. Grew up on a dairy farm with his brother Bob and sister Catherine. He went to Beechland Baptist Church from cradle roll to death. He was very active and loved working in the church and being with so many family and friends. His favorite verse was Matthew 22: 37-40, which Jesus spoke of the greatest commandments we are to follow and Psalms 89: 15-16. He was such a great model of how to live following God’s Word in the Bible. His prayers shared his love of the Lord and family. At Beechland Baptist he was an Elder, Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, RA leader, VBS worker, Choir Member, Sound Technician, Family Life Center receptionist, loved to work with youth and children’s departments just to name a few. He was always a “ kid at heart”, loved kids and gave excellent hugs. Always ready to fellowship by going out to eat, sharing time with friends, working at church, loved camping, fishing, traveling, shopping and serving. He graduated from Valley High School in 1949 with a Letter in football. He also had an Associate Degree from the University of Louisvlle. Married his first wife, Velda in November 1949 and had one daughter, Cathy born in March, 1955. Kip (Cip) join the Army and was stationed in Germany for two years and discovered his joy of working with electronics. Once back at home he started working at LG&E climbing poles, then worked at Carbide Industries LLC for a short period, then worked at Kosmos Cement Company as an Electrical Supervisor and then worked his remaining years as an Electrical Foreman at the Courier Journal, Standard Gravure and Gannett. Kip (Cip) was married to Velda, his first wife, for 52 loving years. He cherished his family and was a beloved father to his daughter, Cathy. After Velda’s death in March of 2001, Kip (Cip) met Anna. In May 2002, Anna became his beloved wife for the next 21 years. Anna brought so much joy to his life and took such wonderful care of him as he aged. They took trips to Hawaii, Alaska, Gatlinburg, Disney World and loved going to Destin during the winter months. Kip (Cip) was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Dora Mae Raggard; brother, Robert Raggard and first wife, Velda Raggard. He is survived by his loving wife, Anna Raggard; daughter, Cathy Kayrouz; and sister, Catherine Baker(nephew, Eddy; nieces, Beverly; Jan; Gloria) And will also be deeply missed by Anna’s brother, Bob Blair; sister, Nancy Ash (Chris); niece, Brittany Carden(Craig). Owen Funeral Home on 5317 Dixie Highway, Louisvlle, Kentucky, 40216. Visitation will be June 18, 2023 from 12 pm - 8 pm. Funeral Service will be held at 11 am on June 19, 2023. Burial will follow at Louisvlle Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers contribution can be sent to Hospice or Beechland Baptist Church Building Fund.
