Glendal "Glen" Bullock

Glen became a Christian at age 19 and departed this life on February 10, 2019. He was born March 9, 1932, to the late Garland and Mattie Bullock. He is preceded in death by a son Gary Wayne Bullock, his parents and an only brother Randal Bullock. Left to cherish his loving and caring memories are his devoted wife of 67 years, Carol, two sons, Glen Bullock Jr. (Teri), and Larry Reed Bullock (Kimberly). Also remaining are three grandchildren, Gary Bullock (Christine), Bradley Bullock (Sabrina) and Laura Carroll (Patrick) as well as four great-grandchildren Ashton, Cohen, Harper Bullock, and Reed Carroll, and a nephew, Nickee Bullock. With our blended families, we have seven step-grandsons and ten great-step-grandchildren. Glen was blessed with many loving and caring nieces, nephews and many special friends. Glen graduated from Valley High School in 1950 and served in the US Air Force (1951-1955) as a Medic. He attended the University of Louisville following his AF tour. He retired from Phillip Morris Corporation on June 1, 1988, as an instructor in their training center. He was a very innovative person who loved to design and build. He built a weekend retreat in Hart County, KY. When he later moved to Lanesville, IN (1971-1989), he built a two-story building on our back property which included a four-bay garage and living quarters. Additionally, he completely restored a 1958 Chevy Fleetside Pickup. Glen enjoyed a very active lifestyle until Macular Degeneration took his eyesight. When retired we were residents of the Glades Country Club in Naples, Florida. (1989-2016) This afforded us the opportunity to play golf and meet many new friends. On his 75th birthday, he walked 15 miles, and on his 80th birthday, he walked 16 miles! He played basketball until age 75 with Beechland Baptist Church’s Plus 55 Men’s Group. We sincerely thank Dr. Rudolph Licandro and Dr. Gilbert Marchal for their many years of compassionate and excellent medical care given to Glen. We also appreciate Baptist Hospital East and Park Terrace for the excellent care Glen received in his last days of life. Funeral services will be at 10 AM on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy. Louisville, KY 40216. Burial will follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 1 – 8 PM on Wednesday at Owen Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Beechland Baptist Church Building Fund (4613 Greenwood Rd. Louisville, KY 40258).
