Raymond James Downey

Raymond James Downey, 6 of Elizabethtown Kentucky passed away on Sunday December 18th, 2022 Raymond was born on April 22nd, 2016 in Louisville Ky to Elliott and Katherine Downey. He attended Kerrick Elementary School and was in 1st grade where his favorite subject was Reading, Raymond could sound out the words and read so well. He loved Art class, and always got excited for Gym! His favorite color is Green the lighter the better and all things Camo, He LOVED crunchy foods with Doritos and Crunchy Cheetos being his favorite not even a chicken nugget could get past him if it didn’t have the right amount of crunch, Raymond wanted to grow up and be a Superhero, Raymond was not shy and would tell you all about yourself, he loved his Mom, Dad and Brother more than anything and no one could ever mess with any of them or he would bring out his superpowers. Raymond was a joy to be around and never went anywhere without his Twin brother Elliott (His Best Friend), Raymond loved playing Video games, including Minecraft and anything that had Wheels was a for-sure thing to play with. Raymond would dance and sing Enemy by Imagine dragons. If you were having a bad day Raymond would always find away to play a trick on you and make you laugh. (I jus jokin’, I Jus plain’) with the biggest smile on his face. When Raymond was around younger kids he was so gentle and always so easy, Raymond was fascinated with how big his family was and how he loved EVERYONE and needed to meet them all, Raymond had such a sweet tender soul and will be missed beyond belief Raymond is proceeded in death by Great Grandfathers: Odell Holman, Elliott Lee Downey, Raymond Fluhr, and Lawrence Baker, Great Grandmothers: Lillian O’Hearn, and Francis Baker, Grandfather: Elliott Lee Downey JR, Aunt: Amanda Baker, Great Uncles: Michael, Damon, James and Keith, Great Aunt: Joni Cousins: Jerry (Scooter) Williams, Michael Wayne, Daniel Hardin and Lillian Skye Raymond is survived by his parents: Elliott and Katherine Downey, Sister: Hayleigh Jane, Brother: Elliott Lee Downey 4th, Grandparents: Lillian Downey, Roger and Teresa Baker, Great Grandmothers: Linda Hardin, and Mary Fluhr, Aunts: Erica Stuart, Rachel Baker, Megan Davis, Heather Fogle, Jordan Baker, and Emile Meredith, Uncles: Roy Downey, James Caulk JR, William Fleitz, Roger Baker, Steve Meredith, James Johnson and an abundance of Cousins and numerous extended family scattered around the globe Visitation and Service will be held at Owen Funeral Home (5317 Dixie Highway Louisville KY, 40216) Visitation will be December 27th from 12pm-8pm and December 28th from 9am-1pm with Service to start at 1pm at the funeral home and Burial to follow at Bethany Cemetery.
