Annual Operation Toy Soldier
Operation Toy Soldier a nationwide initiative to help provide toys to children of military families. Owen partners with Religious Services Office at Fort Knox. We organize and collect toys for children of deployed military. We hope this small act brings a measure of happiness to children and expresses our gratitude for their parent’s sacrifice.

Celebrating the life of Martin Luther King, jr.
Owen joined with the Rotary Club of Louisville Suburban in sponsoring a visit from the Kentucky Lt. Governor Jenean Hampton and lunch for 40 students from a local school. Our own A. W. Buie helped organize this opportunity. It was a meaningful way to celebrate the accomplishments of Martin Luther King, Jr., while remembering his message is still alive today!
Sun Valley Community Center senior Programs
The Owen family values the community we serve. We often join with community organizers in sponsoring activities that offer fellowship along with tasty food, We often have the joy of providing food for Sun Valley Community Center's Luau and Christmas party.
Dixie Area Business Association (DABA) - Community Trick or Treat
Owen Funeral Home is a business member of DABA. Each year Owen staff decorate a booth and hand-out over 1,000 pieces of candy to children in our community; alongside other area businesses.
Riverview Independence Day Festival
We enjoy celebrating Independence Day with our community; participating as a sponsor for the Riverview Independence Day Festival. We hand out Frisbee’s and enjoy listening to music and viewing spectacular fireworks.
Stepping Stones
Stepping Stones is a special day for the Owen family and staff. We fully sponsor this event providing lunch and inspiring music. One of the most important things we do at Stepping Stones is collect personal care items for three area ministries. Many in our community struggle for the most basic needs. Realizing it takes many people to help meet these needs, we collect personal care items at this event and donate them. Our theme is “Shower Your Neighbors with Love.”
