We receive many letters from the families we've served, thanking us for our caring ways during their time of loss. Their words warm our hearts, and speak to you of our professionalism, compassion, and the true value of the services we provide.

I am so thankful my parents made the very wise, thoughtful, and generous decision to pre-arrange their funerals. I will definitely do this for my children. Owen Funeral Home was amazing with my family and I during our time of loss and grief. They are very professional and caring. I highly recommend them in your time of need.

There is no other place in the world that could help me like all the people at Owens did. Melissa took over and did all the preparations for me, which I could not do myself. Everything was perfect. And the man that made our headstone was perfect also.

Melissa is the best! She answered every question we had from helping us arrange the visitation (because Dennis is a big U of K fan, she suggested changing the casket from a light blue to KY blue which was not available at the time we made prearrangements several years ago). Melissa anticipated our every need. Thank you all for taking care of us.

I cannot say enough positive words to describe the experience we had at Owens! The compassion, support, genuine care, concern, love & reverence was above & beyond anything I’ve seen. From the very first moment we/I was treated with respect & gentleness. We were guided, informed & reassured throughout the entire process. Actually I am still being taken total care of with aftercare services. All questions were answered & explained. Every member of the staff is phenomenal & I have made some new friends - what a BLESSING at such a vulnerable time. Thank You!

The staff at Owen Funeral Home was compassionate, helpful and very professional. They made this difficult time as easy as possible.

Professional service. Our family was totally satisfied.

My family lost my baby niece, which was a terrible tragedy. Owen Funeral Home took care of my family like we were apart of the Owen family. Josh was our funeral director and was wonderful. He answered every question we had while we were making the arrangements and answered texts or phone calls quickly for any questions or concerns we had forgot to ask in person. Chaplain Ken performed the service and was also wonderful to work with. He talked to my family to make sure the service was exactly the way we wanted it, which it was. Josh and Ken both have such big hearts and truly care about families whom have just lost a loved one.

"Words cannot express our appreciation for all that was done recently for Sam Tucker and family. Your professionalism and graciousness were outstanding and we will never forget it all. God Bless you each 'real good!' "

"Thank you very much for everything you did to make my father's funeral a sad but very proud day. Your extra work to make things what we had hoped for are greatly appreciated. He would have been proud. Thank you again and you should be proud of your funeral home!"

"I would like to thank you for your professionalism and concern and support in the time of loss of my grandmother, Mrs. Baler. Your sincere concern was greatly appreciated. I was so impressed by the services and all the staff there at Owen Funeral Home. Your staff made a very difficult time much easier on my father. My Grandmother's arrangements were truly something she would have approved of. Thank you."

"As the anniversary of Bud's death is upon us, I am sure our family is especially now reflecting on a year ago. Although I'm sure it has played over many, many times for us throughout this past year. Kenny, I have to say you were just awesome. Cannot tell you just how appreciated you were. I have said you're definitely walking in your calling. It's difficult to put into words but you knew just what to say and do for us at that time...Your program at Christmas was so very special. How nice of you all to have that. Also thought it was so gracious of you to have Officer Grignon's funeral there like you did. People may not always express to you just how much you have helped them at such a difficult time, but I know there are a lot of grateful people out there."

"I just wanted to thank you again for the very kind and compassionate way you took care of my family after the death of my Dad's wife, Shirley Dumeyer. Our situation was not easy for several reasons and you and your staff made it easier for all of us to deal with. Although 'thank you' doesn't seem to be enough to say, I just can't put into words how you have made me restore my faith in humanity."

Marsha D.

"Bo and I cannot tell you how much we enjoyed our trip to Branson. We had a wonderful time and it was time we really needed to get away and forget all our problems and just enjoy one another. I can't even begin to tell you how much you all have meant to us these past few months. Just knowing my brother had friends like you is a great comfort. We would love to continue that friendship in his honor for he was one special brother."

"Your kindness, helpfulness and compassion to me and my family during the time of my husband's passing will always be remembered. Please express my appreciation to your staff and to the organist for the beautiful music. And thank you for being a pallbearer. The committal service at the cemetery with the military participation was so meaningful."

My family has been a patron since the 70's. Both family members & church friends have used your funeral home for decades. My Mom, a Louisville resident, moved to Illinois 3 years ago. Our journey began with Debra & preplanning Mom's funeral. She was so helpful and considerate. Everything went smoothly. Then after Mom passed away, arrangements were made by Owen FH to bring Mom back to Lou. The two funeral homes worked seamlessly. At the visitation & funeral, our every request was met considerably. Your staff worked and succeeded in helping a difficult time seem calm. Thanks to everyone.

I can't express enough how at ease everyone made our family at some of the most stressful times of our lives. I think you all so much for helping us through such times and all the kindness that was given to my family.

I feel I have a wrapped a lot of presents and they have not gotten to the many who were there for me during the time of Steve's illness and death. THIS IS MY GIFT OF GRATITUDE. So many of you were there for me with words of encouragement, prayers, cards, letters, and service. Always standing by waiting to do what was necessary... even to the extent of brining Steve cool air, when my A/C was not performing well enough, mowing the lawn and even making tuna salad twice because I said I wanted some of the tuna like she made it. During Steve's time in the hospital, I received food, gift cards, rides, and so much more from ACC folks. And on the day of his funeral so many pitched in to make sure everything was just the way He would have wanted. Several church ladies prepared sandwiches and refreshments for those who stayed after the service. Many of Steve's Chicago friends, (29 in number), commented on what a great service it was and the kindness and generosity of HCC folks. I want to thank Pastor Ken for making the service a real celebration of Steve's life. He was such a comfort to me and every time I asked (can we do This or That) he answered "Whatever you want." That's what Pastor Ken does for all of us who need him. And I must mention Gretchen, who keeps track of each of of his flock, she's the greatest. I can't forget to mention Mr. David Owen and his part to make things easier. From the moment Steve was taken to Owen Funeral Home until he made his final farewell, Mr. Owen was there for me and my family. His compassion and integrity in handling everything was so appreciated and still is. Love from the bottom of my heart, Phillis

You all are amazing. We could not have had a better atmosphere under the circumstances. Very professional, polite and helpful. Thank you for making one of the most saddening times more bearable.

My family has been using Owens for many years. I believe you have made it better than it used to be. Thank you’ll so very much.

Just wanted to say that in 1997 my mother was at Owen. Linda Owen helped us with everything and I remember her doing such a personal & great job for us. In May 2021, we lost our Dad....Josh Richardson...another Monroe Cty, Ky guy....He went above and beyond for us...I am so glad to have had him with us for our Dad. Many Thanks to Owen. Sandi Bishop

"Thank you all so very much for all the love, comfort and support that you provided. You all went above and beyond with each of us (and that is a lot!). We can sometimes be exhausting with our requests, but you all handled us with grace and kindness. We felt very comforted and 'at home' with you and appreciated all that you have done."

"Thank you so very much for helping me plan my brother's cremation. It was a pleasure meeting you and the staff."

Dianna M.

"All of you did a wonderful job with my Grandmother's funeral. You were so kind and helpful. It is people like you that have made it so clear to me that I have chosen the right profession. I only hope that I can be as wonderful as a funeral director as you are. It would be wonderful to be able to work with you guys because I only want to learn from the best. I never thought I would be working in a funeral home but you showed me that I have a calling and that will be my time to shine an everlasting impression."

"To everyone at Owen Funeral Home: Thank you all so very much for the excellent care you extended to me at the loss of Randy. Every detail was handled with perfection. Everything was very well coordinated with Resthaven. I came away feeling so glad I chose Owen to handle Randy's passing."

Sue W.

"Thank you really isn't adequate to express how grateful my entire family is to you and Owen Funeral Home. The fact that you and your staff were able to pull our Mother's service together in such a professional and beautiful manner on Derby weekend was simply amazing. All my siblings asked me to convey their deep appreciation to you. They were all very pleased with the entire service. On a more personal note, Rusty and I will forever be indebted to you for your friendship and loving caring manner you displayed in handling all our family members. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. "

Rusty and Susan M.

"Recently you arranged the funeral for my mother, Dorothy Schumer. I wanted to thank you for all your help and your thoughtfulness. You arranged everything in a very tight timeframe. I especially appreciated the laminated copy of the death notice from the newspaper. Having such a steady hand to organize everything makes a difficult time more bearable. Your consideration was appreciated."

Gary and Marilynn D.

"I have no idea how to even begin to thank you for everything you've done for our family. Everything was exquisite. I know that even Mamaw wouldn't have changed a thing. You allowed my mother to relax and say goodbye to her mother as peacefully as possible."

"Thank you! By your generous scholarship donation I will continue my education and I will have the wonderful opportunity to fulfill my dream of becoming a speech therapist! People like you keep the Miss Jeffersontown organization going strong and young women throughout the state the ability to live their dreams."
